General apperance On most days Brenda will wear business atire. She's more than happy to wear casual clothing but due to her job she feels it's best to dress to impress. She generally will be smiling, she does enjoy her work.
Personality and general history
Brenda is generally a very kind person. She understands that her job is important to people who need something found. Sometimes even protection they feel they can't get from the police. This is why she takes her job very seriously. She will do everything she can within the law to get things done but sometimes in her work the letter of the law needs to be ignored for a greater purpose. A human life.
She is well aware of other things. Things that aren't normal. Her family was involed in the occult in some way or another. She hates knowing about it. Knowing that there are things from horror films and myths that are just as real as the cases she finds herself dealing in. When she was younger, just out of highschool, she married her childhood friend and sweetheart Maxwell Johnson. He died six years ago while at work, he was a cop. This influenced her choice of career. She chooses to go by her maiden name now, part of that reason is in hopes of not being reminded of her loss.
She'll readily admit that when she does drink her more loathsome aspects come to light.
Recent history
After meeting Mal Reynolds, Captain for the Firefly-class ship Serenity (![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif)
lord_serenity )Brenda has begun to dig herself out of her own very private self-loathing. Not entirely her own choice seeing as Mal made her stay on the ship for a time.
A slow friendship was built between her and the crew members. Now Brenda is more willing to count Mal as a friend and respects him. In some ways she feels she owes him for getting better than she has been.
